Secretary of State Jacek Bogucki began his visit to the People's Republic of China today. A meeting with the Deputy Minister of the People's Republic of China Qu Dongyu was held on the first day of his visit to China. It was another ministerial meeting between the Ministries of Agriculture of Poland and China.

The talks focused on relations in the area of agriculture, both on bilateral and multilateral level, as well as the plans for further cooperation in 2017. Minister Qu Dongyu stressed the importance of Poland, as China's leading partner in Central and Eastern Europe, and mentioned the need to further deepen the exchange of scientific expertise under the Polish–Chinese Centre of Agricultural Science and Technology.
Secretary of State Jacek Bogucki expressed Poland's satisfaction with the achieved progress in terms of the access of Polish food to the Chinese market. In particular, the Secretary of State thanked the Chinese party for its support in opening the market to new agri-food products: apples, hatching eggs and day-old chicks from Poland, among others. He also raised the important matter of recognising the regionalisation of pig farming in relation to the ASF virus.
Tomorrow Jacek Bogucki will take part in the official opening of the Anufood China 2016 Fair, where Poland is a partner country.
