The head of the Polish Ministry of Agriculture particularly referred to the procedures for access of Polish agri-food products to the Chinese market. Minister Jurgiel turned to the Chinese party and asked them for their prompt completion, in the context of very good bilateral contacts. He pointed out that production of safe, high quality food remains a top priority for Polish agriculture. He also declared the readiness of the Polish veterinary and phytosanitary services for close cooperation with their Chinese counterparts.
In addition, Minister Krzysztof Jurgiel stressed the interest of the Polish side in the development of contacts in the field of agricultural sciences in connection to the Agreement between the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Poland and the Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China on cooperation in the Polish-Chinese Centre for Agricultural Science and Technology signed in September 2015. He also announced the broad promotional plans on the Chinese market, including the planned participation in the SIAL China Trade Fair in Shanghai, where Poland will be a partner country.
Ambassador Xu Jian congratulated the Minister on assuming his role, expressing willingness for further good cooperation. Referring to the presented matters, he expressed understanding for the Polish postulates, and declared close cooperation in terms of continuing talks aimed at allowing the exports of Polish agri-food products to the Chinese market. He declared complete support in this matter by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Poland.
The Ambassador welcomed the information about the planned visit of Minister K. Jurgiel to Shanghai next year.
In the opinion of the Chinese party, the participation in exhibitions and trade fairs provides a very good opportunity for the promotion of Polish products in China, as well as foster the growing visibility of Polish food among Chinese consumers, and hence increase exports.
