The talks focused on lumpy skin disease (LSD).

The main subject of the meeting was to discuss a need for the possible introduction of vaccination in the event of the occurrence of this disease in the territory of Poland and Austria.

It should be stressed that currently lumpy skin disease has not occurred in the territory of the Republic of Poland and Austria, however, we may not rule out its real threat from the south-eastern part of Europe.

In connection with that, the parties to the meeting together expressed a need for cooperation in the field of improving knowledge about lumpy skin disease. This cooperation would be carried out at the level of experts from Austria – from the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), subordinate to the Ministry of Health with the experts from the National Veterinary Research Institute in Puławy.
