The meeting was mainly devoted to the issues of economic cooperation. In this context, Secretary of State J. Bogucki applied for supporting the fastest possible finalisation of the procedures associated with access of Polish agri-food products to the Singaporean market.
In particular, Poland counts on the successful finalisation of the procedure of approving Polish poultry meat for export. The Deputy Minister renewed an invitation for the Singaporean entrepreneurs interested in establishing cooperation with the Polish producers and exporters to pay a visit to Poland within the framework of an economic mission accompanying the Ambassador.
Ambassador Loo Choon Yong stressed the interest on the part of Singapore in cooperation with the Polish operators and expressed the willingness to take action in order to implement the economic mission to Poland in 2017. In addition, he pointed out that despite the differences in terms of culinary habits, Polish agri-food raw materials, which are characterised by the high quality, have a chance to become known in the Singaporean market. He also stressed that the Polish entrepreneurs, through Singapore, would also be able to easily reach the markets of other ASEAN countries, covering more than 600 million consumers.
Singapore is the most important trading partner of Poland in Southeast Asia. Trade flows of agri-food products between our countries in 2015 amounted to EUR 18.5 million. In view of the growing interest of the Polish entrepreneurs, Singapore is in the list of priority countries with regard to the promotion of Polish agri-food products in 2016.
