During the meeting both sides have expressed interest in the development of bilateral cooperation in the area of agriculture, especially in the exchange of scientific expertise and by stepping up joint actions in the framework of the "16+1" format.
The ministers have also expressed interest in updating the provisions of the 1996 Agreement between the Polish Ministry of Agriculture and Food Economy and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy on cooperation in the area of agriculture, so that it corresponds to the current needs and expectations of both sides.
When discussing the state of trade relations in agri-food products, the ministers highlighted that there is great potential for developing trade between our countries, especially – as underlined by the Macedonian party – in relation to the export of poultry.
Poland records a positive balance of trade in agri-food products with Macedonia. The value of agri-food products' export to Macedonia in 2015 amounted to 24.1 million euro. Beef and poultry meat were the most important goods exported from Poland to Macedonia in 2015.
