– China are Poland's largest economic partner in Asia. We look forward to the continuation of intensive dialogue in the area of agriculture at various levels, including as part of multilateral formulas, such as "16+1". We hope that – thanks to the active participation of all countries of the format – we will create even better conditions for entrepreneurs to trade in agri-food products – said Krzysztof Jurgiel on the second day of his official visit to the People's Republic of China.

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development met with the Chinese Minister of Agriculture Han Changfu. The ministers discussed the current state of Polish-Chinese cooperation in the area of agriculture, and trade and scientific exchange in particular. Minister Jurgiel stressed that Poland plays a leading role in the region of Central and Eastern Europe, and the recent visits at the top level – President Andrzej Duda's to China and President of the PRC Xi Jinping's to Poland – gave new impetus to the development of Polish-Chinese economic relations, including those relating to trade in agri-food products. The minister also thanked for the Chinese support in opening the Chinese market for fresh apples from Poland.

Han Changfu stressed that China attaches great importance to the development of cooperation in the "16+1" format, as evidenced by the number of events organised within the framework of this mechanism. Poland, as the economically strongest country of the "sixteen" is an important partner for China, also because of the huge potential of Polish agriculture – said the Chinese minister.
